A group of students studying international relations at Ukrainian universities has completed the 5th"Hungary: Visegrad group in the EU experience" internship programme. This educational course was being organized on 08-13 May 2016 in Budapest within the Diplomatic Trainings Euroschool in coordination with the Embassy of Hungary to Ukraine.
During the course the students have participated in working meetings and activities held in the Parliament of Hungarian Republic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, International Relations Office of the Municipality of the City of Budapest, Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Corvinus University of Budapest, State Self-Government of Ukrainians in Hungary and the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary.
From experienced members of the diplomatic corps they have learned about the Visegrad Group role and its cooperation with Ukraine, Hungarian leading experience in the field of international relations and EU membership, as well as extended their knowledge in foreign policies and EU integration processes. The students have also gotten familiar with practical aspects of consular services and diplomatic missions abroad.
Within the Euroschool the students were making presentations on actual topics of international relations, carried out debates with foreign experts and communicated with their colleagues from educational institutions. They also had a separate meeting and diplomatic reception with members of the Young Diplomats Club of Hungary.
The closing event of the five-day programme was held in the Embassy of Hungary in Kyiv where the students were being awarded the certificates of the Euroschool successful completion. Their visit to Budapest was being fulfilled including broad historical and cultural events.
This time the group was represented by students of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Oles Honchar University of Dnipropetrovsk, National University “Odesa Law Academy” and National Vasyl Karazin University of Kharkiv. Since 2014 about 90 Ukrainian students and teachers have completed the Euroschool internship program in Hungary. Next Euroschool is scheduled to be held on 02-07 October 2016.
